"Washington is because there is a ton and a lot of rain that washes so its Wash-ing-ton. And Maple Valley because Maple is like in nature and there is a lot of nature and its a Valley."

Washington is named after George Washington who never set foot in this part of the world and a long time ago two logging brothers drew the name of our town out of a hat. The post office later declared that Vine Maple Valley was too long so they shortened it to Maple Valley.
